The SOUNDING, Large Edition is to be limited to only fifty (50) copies. SOUNDING is the Reeves' impressionistic whale and calf. SOUNDING was the frist whale piece done in highly polished bronze produced by Gary Reeves. The small number of the edition and the abstract nature of th epiece will surely make this piece one of the most sought after in the Reeves Collection.

Biography: Starting as a boy of only eight, Gary designed and sculpted miniatures of animals using putty that was scraped from window sills of the family home. As the availability of materials changed, Gary began to sculpt in porcelain clay and carved wood all the time working on his unique, creative talent for expressing motion in a three dimensional medium. After high school Gary went to work as an apprentice in the newly formed Bennett Brothers Bronze Sculpture foundry located in Placerville, California. Here Gary learned the intricate techniques involved in the production of fine quality bronze sculpture. Inspired by the creative genius of twin brothers Tom and Bob Bennett, Gary's true artistic momentum awoke and emerged.

His unique impressions of marine life combined with the elegance of solid bronze made hids work highly sought after in the areas of marine life awareness.

Gary Reeves captures the fluid movement of the great whales, the playful innocence of other marine mammals, the graceful flight of birds, and the powerful mystery of sharks in highly polished , limited edition bronzes.
