About Rusty Phelps - Born 1936. His sculpture "The Range Rider" is in the Smithsonian. Phelps is a fourth generation native Coloradan who resides in the home his great-grandfather build as a homesteader in 1878. He has been an artist since childhood when he first drew on paper sacks and used firewood for carving. Then, as now, he was influenced by the wildlife that surrounded him and the stories his grandfather told of the old west. As a professional artist his work has received many honors and awards. He has won the gold, silver and bronze awards at the Western Heritage Art Show and silver award at the George Phippins Memorial. He has also received numerous commissions from institution ranging from the U.S. Air Force to the Pike Peak or Bust Rodeo Association. This sculpture is in excellent condition, single owner. |
