| Shahrokh Rezvani "PARALLELS: Illusion and Reality" an awesome show...you really have to see Shahrokh's incredible work in person! Elena Kohn's Russian Impressionist Collection #2 from the 40s 50s and 60s...too good to pass up! Dr. Art Levy with his wonderful Encaustic paintings, quite nicely done. It was a wonderful evening, the attendance was great...another fantastic event hosted by David Tooker the Executive Director and Curator of the West Valley Museum. Photos below. |

| I couldn't wait to attend this opening for Shahrokh Rezvani a fantastically multi-talented Persian artist. Shahrokh has developed a series hearts...hearts like you have never seen before. They were all so wonderfully displayed. Beverly, Shirley and Ginny owners of Artspace are so accomplished at creating an environment for showcasing fine art of most all types. They also have an upstairs with studios for many artists. It is surely worth a visit for this show or just to go...you'll go back! Photos coming soon. |

| It's winter time in Scottsdale, Arizona...lot's of goings on! Art Shows abound, the new Arizona Fine Art Expo that runs for 73 days. This is a new art show put on by the very experienced Thunderbird Artists...I'll be getting over there in the next week or so and update you on my findings. Then there is the world famous Barrett-Jackson automobile auction, the bell weather event in the world for collector cars. It's live on the Speed Channel(cable tv)..people and cars here from all over the world. There three other collector car auctions here this month as well. Oh, don't forget the Celebration of Fine Art and the Phoenix Open golf tournament...all this month! |
| Here is more on the The Thunderbird Art Show in Carefree, Arizona this past weekend. A very well attended show, thousands of people over the weekend and more incredible sculpture and fine art paintings than you can imagine! I stopped by and visited with Jim Budish who had a large display of his ever so popular sculpture. He now has 6, 7, and 10 foot high Chauncey rabbits!...Then I went over and caught up with JR Eason of Montana, she came all the way down to show off her incredible work...the new life-size "To Know Joy" is breathtaking. Walking down the midway there is Donn Riggs and his wife Kimberly displaying all of his unique stylized big cats and other animals and some new highly colorful shaped pieces as only Don can do! Stopped by and said hi to Frank Barbera, Marie Barbera's hard working husband, Marie was over at the Arizona Fine Art Expo..she is without a doubt the foremost sculptor of Native Americans in the world today. I had to get going, then on the way out I noticed Paula Yates with her work...she does the whimsical children on swings in bronze and the swings actually swing! It was good catching up with Paula, hadn't seen her in a few months. She said she is working on some larger pieces...can't wait to see them complete! Below, please find pictures I tried to take..so many people it was difficult to get any good ones! |
